Pikes Peak Colorado

What is a visit to Colorado without seeing Pikes Peak? So that’s exactly what I did today, visit Pikes Peak.
After viewing some 80 pictures, I realized that they do not do justice to actually seeing this natural wonder in person. Amazing, fantastic, glorious, beautiful, ridiculously breathtaking and also a little scary are just some of the adjectives that come to mind. Snow prevented a full 19 mile ride to the top. The sign stated 16 of the 19 miles were available. I made it to about 14 thousand feet. The road got hairy. Wet, bumpy, slippery and slushy were enough for me to turn back. Believe me, between the altitude, my rubber necking at every amazing turn and some of the cowboys coming the other way, you have your work cut out for you. I was pleased to make it that far. If the Jeep had four wheel drive I wouldn’t have hesitated.
The little fox you see makes his living begging at the rest stop along the way.
Be prepared, there are quite a few pictures. Enjoy. TC…

Probably not a great place to park!
Notice how white the knuckles are?
                                                       Skiers.
                                             Lots of slush.....
                                                Making a living.
