Traveling to Mesa Verde National Park, Co.

Rt. 62 at Ridgeway brings you to the most amazing drive imaginable and gets even better all the way to Mesa Verde. I know that similar statement has been pronounced many times and you are probably wondering how easily I am impressed. Fear not oh unbeliever, pictures are worth a thousand words. Colorado has yet failed to amaze me with its natural beauty and picturesque mountains of majestic splendor. Wow, did I just say that? Believe it. It has turned out to be a most enjoyable experience, this 134 year old state. On the way, I stopped at a small mining town in the mountains named Rico. I had to pleasure of meeting Lawrence, the sometime proprietor of a small hotel appropriately named the Mine Shaft Inn. Imagine that. I got the full tour, but didn’t see any of the ghosts that make the hotel its home. I did enjoy the brothel rooms thought. Lawrence was a great host.  Enjoy some pictures. TC…
