One Day In Zion National Park

Zion campground was FULL, so the sign said.  And by all the traffic in the park that was very true.  So my only alternative was to camp outside of the park and pay $38.96 with tax.  Now normally that may not seem like much money, but when you are camping and are used to paying a mere pittance, it's way too much!
Really the crowds are mainly what only kept me there one day.  Way too many people.  Having said that, the park is nothing short of amazing.  The tunnel you see me enter and leaving is 1.1 miles throught the mountain and was built in 1930.  Before entering the park my camper was measured and only met the requirements by a few inches. Enjoy some photos.  TC...
On line to enter the park.
Checkerboard Square is the name of this beauty.

Leaving Capitol Reef for Zion National Park/A few more views

After 10 days in beautiful Capitol Reef National Park, I deceided to move on.  I had not really discovered the east end of highway 24 that runs by the park so on my last day I did just that and captured some photos.  Enjoy.  TC...

Hiking in Capitol Reef

(By the way, that's one way with a 1000 foot ascend)

There are several hikes available in Capitol Reef, each a little different than the other.  The Cassidy Arch is actually named after Butch Cassidy, of the famed Butch and Sundance.  I met a great couple at the start and we hiked to the Arch and shared our travel experiences along the way.  The Capitol Gorge Trail was amazingly windy with desert sand most of the way.  Having said that, the views of the canyons were worth it.  Enjoy some pictures of all three hikes.  TC...
